Licensing Programme

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Certification Examinations: Successful completion of the IPMP Membership Certification Examinations, comprising sixteen (16) papers across Levels 1 to 6.
  2. Professional Enrichment Training: Participation in the Professional Enrichment Training Program, which includes ten (10) non-examinable courses applicable to all membership levels.
  3. Educational Qualification: Possession of a recognised Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification in Project Management or a related discipline.
  4. Career Development Report (CDR): Submission of a Career Development Report is required for all membership levels.
  5. Capstone Project Report: Submission of a project capstone report is mandatory for applicants seeking admission as Fellows or Distinguished Fellows.

 

Additional Requirements by Membership Level

  • Level 3 – Full Member (MPMP): Minimum of three (3) years of relevant project management experience.
  • Level 4 – Chartered Member (ChPMP): At least five (5) years of senior-level project management or related experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex or high-value projects.
  • Level 5 – Master Project Management Professional (MhPMP): A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience in project or program management, including at least three (3) years at a strategic or project portfolio level. Applicants must also demonstrate contributions to the project management body of knowledge.
  • Level 6 – Certified Project Management Consultant (CPMC): At least ten (10) years of experience in project management and consultancy, with a focus on advisory roles, auditing project performance, or leading process improvement initiatives. Documented evidence of consultancy assignments is required.
  • Level 7 – Fellow (FPMP): A minimum of fifteen (15) years of leadership experience in project, program, or portfolio management. Applicants should be recognised thought leaders or strategic contributors in the field and must provide evidence of mentorship, publication, or advocacy in project management.
  • Level 8 – Distinguished Fellow (DFPMP): At least twenty (20) years of strategic leadership, academic, or research excellence in project management. Prior recognition as a Fellow (FPMP) is an advantage. Applicants must demonstrate global influence or significant policy-level contributions to the profession.
  • Honorary Fellow (FhPMP): Conferred by invitation only and subject to approval by the IPMP Governing Council. Candidates must submit an Honorary Fellowship Profile and participate in the official Induction Ceremony.
