Certification via Experience
(CVE) is an alternate route of becoming a member of IPMP through the assessment
of relevant Project Management Work Experience. It recognizes and credits
relevant project management experience, it provides a route for full members
who do not have the time to go through the tuition and write the certificate
examination because of pressing work responsibilities.

subsequently write the Certification Exam because of pressing work
responsibilities.
Eligibility:
o
A
Full Member-in-good-standing for two consecutive years (including the current
year)
o
A
first degree or its equivalent in any discipline
o
4
years’ work experience in project management as project team member, project
manager, project director, project monitoring and evaluation officer, project
planner, project engineer, project procurement manager, project finance
officer, etc.
o
Should
have provided evidence of having participated in at least six formal Continuing
Professional Education (CPE) workshops /training within the last three years
(two of which should have been IPMP Trainings).
o
Should
have evidence of a minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in at least 3
of the following subject areas in project management: Human Resource Management
(Training & Development), Procurement (Stores & Warehousing, Logistics
& Transport), Finance & Accounting, Scope (Engineering, Constructions,
Architect, Quantity Survey), Schedule (Planner), Communication, Risk
Management, Quality Management, Integration Management (IT areas) and Stakeholder
Management
*(In the case of a
specialist, he/she must demonstrate at least 7 years’ continuous experience in
that single area)
Assessment Tools:
o
Detailed
review of record of professional experience
o
An
interview with IPMP assessor(s)
o
Detailed
reference from 3 nominated referees
o
Duration:
After submission of application and relevant documentation, assessment would be
done within three (3) weeks. Subsequently, communication will be sent to
applicants notifying them of the outcome of their applications.
The decisions made are final. Unsuccessful applicants may reapply at the next round of applications.
A successful applicant will be required to undertake a Six (6) months Continuous Professional Development (CPD) mandatory training to validate your membership with the institute through its Learning Management System (LMS) Project Management Modules with pass mark of 50% for each module and total of 550% for the entire programme. Membership with the Institute of Project Management Professionals (IPMP) will provide you with technical and practical knowledge information, advocacy, and professional networking opportunities, which will help advance your career. You will be able to exchange research information with other members of the institute in the field of Project Management and its related field as well as participate in Continues Development Plan programming sessions offered at various conferences throughout the year.
